Caring
for Your Kapok Pillow
Before sleeping on a new Kapok Pillow, fluff it in the dryer
on warm for about 15 minutes. Also, remember that it can take
up to a month to get used to the firm support of kapok.
For
long life, use a pillow protector and clean the pillow at
least once a season, more often if required. Have it cleaned
(by a dry cleaners who uses natural products) or machine wash
in warm water using a mild soap (no bleach) on a gentle cycle.
A large capacity front-loading washing machine gives the best
results. At the end of the cycle, reset to normal spin dry
cycle for maximum water extraction. Then, tumble dry with
three tennis balls or a clean canvas running shoe. Allow pillow
to dry thoroughly - this may require several cycles. Proper
drying is important because it ensures optimum loft, hygiene,
shape retention and longevity.
Fluff
the pillow once a month either in a dryer for 15 minutes with
a couple of tennis balls or in direct sunlight in the summer
time.
